THE EAGLE
A symbol of power, Bonelli's eagles regulate populations of small mammals and birds, playing a key role in their ecosystem. Threatened by habitat destruction, human disturbance, and the dwindling supply of their prey, only about fifty breeding pairs remain in France.
The Ross'Wild fund is working alongside the Calanques National Park to protect this endangered species.
Nest Preservation
Reinforced protection of Bonelli's eagle nesting sites, particularly sensitive areas, in order to guarantee favorable conditions for breeding couples.
Luggage and scientific research
Establishment of ringing programs and rigorous scientific protocols to collect valuable data on Bonelli's eagle behavior, refine conservation strategies and optimize the management of its natural habitats.
Reduction of human impacts
Implementation of targeted actions aimed at limiting human disturbance in sensitive areas, in order to provide the eagle with a calm and secure environment, particularly during the breeding season.
